Why does food matter?
Food gives your body energy and nutrients for school, training, strong bones and muscles, recovery and normal growth. Your body needs energy for everyday life as well as sport.
You do not need to make your body smaller for sport
There is no single way a sporty body should look. Skipping meals, eating too little or feeling pressure to become thinner can affect your health, energy and performance.
What should I notice?
Tell a trusted adult if you are often very tired, dizzy, getting repeated injuries, feeling worried about food or your weight, or if established periods become much less regular or stop. These signs can have many causes and deserve proper support.
Keep it simple: You do not need to count calories or track complicated numbers. Regular meals, enough food and drink, sleep and recovery are a good place to start.
